Tempus Ex Machina, whose innovative syncing technology serves as an operating system for sports, has acquired Biocore, the biomechanics engineering firm led by Jeff Crandall. Crandall chairs the NFL’s engineering committee, which advises on injury reduction efforts. The joint entity will be known as Infinite Athlete, with Tempus Ex chief Charlie Ebersol as its CEO, and will be able to offer Biocore’s proprietary technology to all partners.

The vision of Tempus Ex is to provide the technology infrastructure to facilitate development of applications that readily exploit its video and data feed, FusionFeed API. For its flagship first client, the NFL, that has included providing football operations with streamlined access to multi-angle video, enabling sponsors like Pepsi to offer new social media experiences and helping Biocore ingest new data streams in its player and health and safety work.
